NivaTec began as a frustration with robotics that could not survive a real workday offshore. We set out to build the tools we wished we had.
Born offshore
Our founders spent a decade on dive support vessels, watching inspection ROVs fail in conditions that should have been routine. The problem was never the ocean — it was the engineering. In 2018 we started building our own.
Built to be repaired
Every NivaTec vehicle is designed to be serviced on a pitching deck with basic tools. No factory returns for a flooded thruster. No proprietary connectors. The ocean is hard enough; your tools should not be.
Where we are now
Today NivaTec platforms operate across aquaculture, offshore energy, defense, and research — from sheltered fjords to open ocean. We are a small team that ships often and listens hard.
Principles that survive contact with the water
Reliability over specs
A depth rating on a datasheet means nothing if the vehicle floods on day one. We optimize for uptime, not benchmarks.
Serviceability over polish
A field-repairable vehicle beats a pretty one. We choose the one a technician can fix at 2am in a storm.
Honesty over hype
